Frederick, MD – August 1st, 2022
FESCO Energy is a leading, private, energy efficiency and renewable energy company, today announced that it has received the distinguished status as a Department of Energy (DOE) Qualified ESCO. The DOE Qualified List of ESCOs is required by the Energy Policy Act of 1992 (as implemented by 10 CFR 436.32) and is the critical component of the federal government’s multi-tiered ESCO evaluation for energy savings performance contracting (ESPC) procurements.
” Being a recognized DOE qualified ESCO enables access to compete for special Federal energy infrastructure and savings contracts that only qualified companies can participate in. The DOE Qualified List of ESCOs is composed of about 100 firms that have submitted applications and have been approved by the DOE qualification review board. Companies approved for the DOE Qualified List of ESCOs may compete for energy savings performance contracts (ESPCs) with Federal agencies. Being a recognized DOE qualified ESCO enables access to compete for certain Federal energy infrastructure and energy cost savings contracts that only qualified companies can participate in, which may or may not require additional qualifications. These billion-dollar contracts which allow third party financing, should FESCO successfully compete and be awarded one, will continue the expansion of FESCO Energy’s business into new Federal contracting activities that are consistent with FESCO’s core business of providing energy services (efficiency, resiliency, renewable, storage) that are paid for through the cost savings realized”, said John Dukes, President of FESCO Energy.
